If you're planning to cut acrylic or leather, the smoke has to go somewhere. I once assumed a spare room with an open window would be enough. It didn't work because my studio was too far from an external wall. That little detail created a $1,200 custom ducting job and a 10-day delay.
Make a simple floor plan before you decide on a machine. Measure the unit, the air filter clearance, and the space around it for long sheets.
